Carbon Capture and Storage Procurement | Mace
Announced in the 2009 budget, the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Demonstration project is a key government energy initiative aimed at mitigating the warming effects of carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel power stations by storing them in underground disused oil and gas fields.
Mace team members assisted the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) by supporting the programme and project management of the procurement for the demonstration project, and providing project planning expertise to the CCS' project management office. Mace brings its energy expertise in green technology procurement, complex infrastructure delivery, experience of dealing with complex regulatory environments and understanding of large private finance initiative projects to ensure the CCS can become a reality for energy supply in the UK.
